Corrupt License File Error for Virtual Cluster Key

Issue

• We were able to successfully generate a virtual cluster key using the customer portal, but there are errors preventing deployment in the logs:

ERROR [fileinstall-directory-watcher][LicenseManager:?] Corrupt license file. License 
was not registered ERROR [com.liferay.portal.kernel.deploy.auto.AutoDeployScanner]
Unable to write activation-key...

Environment

• DXP 7.0
• DXP 7.1
• DXP 7.2
• DXP 7.3

Resolution

• Virtual Cluster Keys are incompatible with any version below Liferay 7.3 Fix Pack 2 and so you can either update your environment or generate a key with physical identifiers.
