In SAML setup user is not getting login in the SP and receiving warning on the UI

Issue

  • After setting up the SAML process, the user tries to log in receiving the warning below and not being logged in.

Environment

  • Liferay 2023.Q4.0

Resolution

  • If users are setting up an identity provider as Liferay and a service provider as Liferay
  • In IDP and SP, users set the below parameters by navigating to the Control Panel > Security >SAML Admin > Identity Provider connection tab:
    firstName
    lastName
    emailAddress
    screenName
  • The above four parameters should be added to the IDP and SP. Suppose the screen name is not added; then a warning on the UI will be visible, and the user will not be able to log in.
