Documents and Media widget displays "Copy to" action for Guest users

Issue

• The "Copy to" option is displayed in the Documents and Media widget for Guest users, even though they lack the necessary permissions to perform this action.
• This can lead to a poor user experience, as clicking on the option results in a 404 error.
   
• Steps to reproduce:

1. Add a Documents and Media widget.

2. Enable the "Show Actions" option in the widget's settings.

3. Log out of the portal.

4. Click on the folder.

5. For any document, go to Actions, and the "Copy To" option will be available for Guest users.

6. Click on "Copy To," and you will be redirected to a 404 page.

 

Environment

• Liferay DXP 2024.Q3

Resolution

• The observed behavior is a known issue addressed by LPD-45636.
• Please update to DXP 2025 Q1.0  to solve this problem.

Additional Information

• If updating to this version is not possible, a hotfix can be created with the LPD-45636.
