Why did I receive a Non-Production type Elasticsearch license for my Disaster Recovery environment?

Issue

• I expect to have a Production type key for my Backup/Disaster Recovery site.

 

Environment

• Liferay 7.4
• Quarterly Releases

 

Resolution

• Elasticsearch licenses technically fit into one of these 3 types: Production, Non-Production and Trial.
• For Backup/Disaster Recovery sites, a Non-Production license key should be used.
• Since these environments are only intended as a temporary replacement of a Production environment, it is not considered a Production use case, but a Disaster Recovery environment.
• In order to use a Non-Production license type in an environment which could be used as a Production environment, you must have purchased a Disaster Recovery environment.
• A Non-Production environment can not become a Production environment unless you have purchased a Disaster Recovery environment license or change the license type to Production.
