Adding a Site

To add a new Site to your Liferay Portal instance:

  1. Open the Global Menu ( Global Menu icon ) and navigate to the Control Panel, and then select Sites.

  2. Click the Add icon (Add Site) at the top right of the page.

  3. Select a Site Template. See Site Templates for more information on creating Site Templates.

  4. Enter a Name for the Site.

  5. If you are using a Site Template with pages, then click the checkbox to make default pages private, if desired.

    The checkbox to populate the Site with private pages instead of public pages is only present for templates with pages.

  6. Click Save.


In order to view a newly created blank site, you must first create a page for it. See Adding a Page to a Site for more information.
